I’m the type of person who shops around for the best deal. I don’t always consider the best deal to be the lowest price. To me quality is the most important. That is why I like Rawlings for sports equipment. I have three girls and they all play softball. We turn to Rawlings when the season looms. When it comes to gloves and mitts, I look to Rawlings for me and the girls. I always get baseball mitts for me, so I can toss the ball around with the girls to help them practice. I’m hard on my baseball mitts and have purchased my fair share over the years. I have tried other brands, most notably the Nokona glove, but I got back to the Rawlings glove every time. The Nokona glove is of high quality, but since they are a specialty outfit, they are a little expensive. Don’t get me wrong, you definitely get your money’s worth with the Nokona glove, but like I said, with three girls I’m on a budget. If that is not a concern, or you are buying for your son, then by all means look in to the Nokona glove. But enough about me and my baseball mitts. Let’s talk girls softball. For softball mitts, nothing beats the Rawlings gloves. Each of my girls has their own Rawlings glove. As a matter of fact, they are on their third each Rawlings glove. They have tried on many other gloves, but they only want the Rawlings gloves. I can’t say I blame them. If I played softball and had to choose softball mitts, I’d go with the Rawlings glove. For softball bats, we go to Rawlings yet again. My girls all use metal softball bats. I don’t know if Rawlings makes a difference but my girls all swing mean softball bats. I have bought my fair share of baseball softball bats in my day, and I think Rawlings makes the best ones. I know most people think of Louisville Slugger when they think baseball softball bats, but not me. Everyone finds it weird that I feel that way since I am usually old school. I actually still prefer wood baseball softball bats. Oh well, it’s what my girls want and they want metal baseball softball bats. I should be happy; they could want carbon fiber baseball softball bats. Then I would be broke for sure. The only time I give up the softball shopping is when it comes to sliding shorts. My wife answers the call of duty for the sliding shorts purchases. Of course, my girls still go for the Rawlings sliding shorts just like they do with the softball mitts. I know I could help my girls with this, but they get more and more embarrassed as they get older. Plus, it gets their mom involved. There is one place we break tradition. We buy Worth softballs. The girls prefer the Worth softball to any other ones. Their league uses Worth softballs. You kind of can’t argue with the league, so Worth softballs it is.So allow me to summarize our family’s top picks for softball equipment. For baseball softball bats, we go with Rawlings. For sliding shorts, we go for Rawlings. We also purchase Rawlings gloves. The Nokona glove is good, but we choose the Rawlings glove. But, remember, we deviate from Rawlings and go with the Worth softballs. I suggest you try out many brands when you select softball equipment to get a feel for what works for you. I bet you come home with some Rawlings equipment though.
