History of road cycling.

The Veloce Paris Club was founded in 1868 [2]. The first bicycle race in history took place May 31, 1868 in the Parc de Saint Cloud in Paris, it was won by Britain’s James Moore. It is the first race where we find an official statement [3]. In 1896, road cycling is present at the first Olympics of the modern era held in Athens. On November 7, 1869 held the first bicycle race from town to town between Paris and Rouen. The route is 123 miles, a hundred are started, 33 to the finish. Briton James Moore won the race by covering the distance in 10 hours and 45 minutes with a bicycle fitted with pedals attached to the hub of the wheel. January 15, 1870, the Veloce Club fiorentino President Gustave Langlade is based. This is the first Italian club cycling. The first Dutch club, the Deventer Velocipede Club, was founded in 1871. In 1881, the Union Cyclist of France is created by combining several clubs. She organized the first edition of the Championnat de France cycling. The UVF also codifies practices and competitions. In 1892, the International Cyclist Association who will become the UCI in 1900. On 1 December 1892 the first issue of the sports newspaper “The Bike” lots. This “daily newspaper of the Velocipede” is actually open to all sports,and cycling clothing even if cycling is particularly preferred. During the 1896 Olympics, the first of the modern era Leon Flameng the winner of the 100 km highway. The same year the cycling team Excelsior Payan Cycles is based in Marseille. The first Tour de France starts in July 1903, is supported by the newspaper L’Auto (formerly Auto-Cycling). The competitor, The Bike is not recovering from this innovation that runs perfectly the ancestor of “Team”. The bike stops its release in November 1904. The Yellow Ribbon was created in 1936 by Henri Desgrange, this award honors the runner record holder speed races over 200 km.
